APPLICANT: What is "Rank"?
This article is for Staff Me Up Applicants who want to know about the Rank feature and what it means for their job applications. The purpose of this article is to explain what Rank is, what it means, and how it can be used to help your application.
What is Rank?
Rank is a feature of Premium membership that shows you how you compare to other applicants for a job. Your Rank is based on several factors, including your experience in the position or similar positions, if you've worked for the production company before, and if you have mutual connections with the job poster. Your rank is only visible to you and will change from job to job depending on other applicants and job requirements.
Please remember that adding false credits or experience violates our terms of service. While Rank is a helpful tool, it is not an indication of whether your application will be fully reviewed or if you will be considered for the job.
How do I know where I rank among other applicants?
Your rank percentage indicates where your application sits among the other applicants.
How can I use the ranking to boost my profile?
Your rank is boosted by the credits on your Profile: Your experience in that position; and your experience in the same department.
To increase your rank, you'll need to list credits on your profile that are in the same position or department. Resumes in your resume library don't count toward your rank.
Who is the production company?
Even if the production company is hidden, Staff Me Up requires the production company's name when approving listings. Although you might not see the company, our data tells us if you've worked for them before.
Remember that the production company and the network are different; we don't rank your application based on network matches.
Do I have mutual connections at a job posting?
Add as much detail to your credits as possible so you can connect with more people from the production. As mentioned above, this is why it's important to break apart your "various" credits, since you will have different clients on different projects which give you new networking opportunities.
You can also connect your Facebook and Google accounts to increase your connections on the site.
