Setting up your first Work Alerts
There are many factors that can make a candidate stand out from the pack but sometimes, being one of the first people to apply can help, especially if a production company needs to hire someone quickly.
Setting up Work Alerts will ensure that you’re getting notifications sent to your email the moment they are published for those positions and location that you are most interested in. You can customize these at any time.

Building your profile
While Staff Me Up recommends adding at least two credits to your profile before applying to a job, we also recognize that some people are new to the industry and looking to get experience.
So, if you don’t have industry experience, that’s ok! Add the relevant experience you do have.
For example, film school productions or even work on your friend’s indie podcast count. Similarly, if you have non-industry work experience that is relevant to the position/s that you are looking for, you should include it. Tthere are many jobs that employ many of the same skills that a Production Assistant needs like running errands, problem-solving, loading and unloading, and checking people into events.
Building your profile is an important step in making a good impression.
Need some ideas? You can head over to the Testimonials page and click on links to profiles of members who’ve found success on Staff Me Up.
Once your profile is complete, it’s also important to keep it up-to-date by continuing to add credits. This helps to grow your network and can help you get hired.
Please note: The contact information that you see on your profile is internal only. Only you can see it. If job posters want to contact you, they will message you through the platform.
Cover letters and Resumes
You are able to create as many cover letters as you wish, but each one must have a unique name. For instance, you could save cover letters for each position type so you can “grab and go,” making the application process fast and easy. You can also customize cover letters during the application process to further tailor it to the specific employer’s needs.
Your Cover Letters library is found via your Profile page.
Once in your Cover Letters library, the 3 small dots on the right hand side across from the title will open the overflow menu and offer the option to Edit or Delete.
Tracking the status of jobs you’ve applied to
Once you’ve applied to a job, you can track the status of your application in the Jobs I’ve Applied To page, found via the Find Work tab.
